THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Stage director: Aga Winska
Aga Winska was born in Warsaw, Poland. While training, she made her debut in the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute at the Warsaw Chamber Opera.
In 1988, she won the first prize (Grand Prix), the Oratorio Prize and the Alex de Vries special prize in the Queen Elizabeth International Singing Competition in Brussels and later the first prize for operetta in the Gascogne International Singing Competition in France (1999).
Aga Winska has appeared as the main roles' soloist on the principal European stages: in Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper - Theater an der Wien), Stockholm (Drottningholm Theatermuseum), Brussels (Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie), Paris (Le Châtelet), Antwerp (De Vlaamse Opera) as well as in Polish theatres: in Szczecin, Krakow and Warsaw (Opera Kameralna, Teatr Wielki).
She sings in renowned concert halls in Europe (Antwerp, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Hanover, Luxemburg, Oslo, Bergen), America (USA and Canada) and the Far East (Japan and China) and has worked with many famous conductors (Nicolas Harnoncourt, Arnold Östman, Sylvain Cambreling, Grant Llewellyn, Emil Tchakaroff, Theodor Guschlbauer, Harald Williams, Guido Rumstadt, Edmond Saveniers, Hugues Reiner, Pierre Bartholomée, Patrick Peire, Georges Octors).
Aga Winska is regularly invited to the leading European music festivals, and has featured in numerous broadcasts and recordings for radio and television in many countries, as well as on CDs and film recordings.

 

   

Musical Director: Karol Golebiowski
Organist, pianist and conductor, Karol was born in Warsaw, Poland. He was a prize winner in the international music competitions in Nuremberg, Bruges, Munich and Rome, which established his international reputation and marked the beginning of a brilliant career.
Since then he has been invited to play in all major festivals and has performed throughout Europe, the USA and the Middle-East.
Karol Golebiowski started to cooperate with BLOC in the 90's as rehearsal pianist and assistant music director. Later he conducted Trial by Jury and The Zoo by Gilbert & Sullivan and some operettas by Jacques Offenbach. Most recently, he conducted BLOC's The Gondoliers and BLOC's 30th anniversary production A String of Pearls. He has made many appearances as conductor in a classical repertoire and led Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Bach's Passions and Cantatas, Mozart's Requiem and many others.
Since 1991, Karol Golebiowski has been an Artistic Director of The European Organ Festival, organising concerts in over fifty cities in fourteen countries.

 

   

Production Manager: Ken Wollard
Ken Woollard retired from the British School of Brussels in 2004 after twenty-two years as manager of the Arts Centre. Acting experience was decades ago: Lucky in Waiting for Godot , Danforth in The Crucible , Trigorin in The Seagull . Ken has been primarily a director, having done numerous productions for British School , many alongside BSB Music Department, culminating in Les Miserables (2002). He joined BLOC in 2004, playing Jacob in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

 
    Choreographer and Publicity: Audrey Jungers
Audrey Jungers has a Certificate of Higher Education in Theatre Arts from the London Studio Centre, an Associate Diploma in Imperial Ballet from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, and a Masters Degree in Marketing & Advertising. She has been involved with BLOC since 1993. She started by dancing in selected scenes, but in the last couple of years, has joined in the singing as well! She also has performed and choreographed for numerous ballet performances by the Jarrett School of Dance and the Classical Ballet School. She's been in charge for Publicity and Public Relations for the past 2 years, and has choreographed for Bloc on Broadway 1 & 2 and A String of Pearls.

Web Master, Waiter and Back Stage Crew: Kjeld Jensen
Kjeld was a professional singer at the age of 11 (church coir). He took his debut on stage as Sarastro in a school performance of Mozart's The Magic Flute. In Brussels he has appeared as Larsen in ATC's South Pacific in 1992. Since joining BLOC in 1994 he has performed in many of it's main and small stage productions, mostly in the chorus. He was co-producer of BLOC's The Swinging Sixties where he also directed an except from Hair, and he appeared as the nightclub owner Mishka in The Gipsy Princess. You'll often find him behind th BLOC Bar.
