Guys and Dolls

A Musical Fable of Broadway

BLOC's new production on 18-21 November at the Audergham Cultural Centre will be GUYS AND DOLLS, Frank Loesser's magnificent musical comedy about rolling the dice and falling in love.

With its classic score of unforgettable show tunes, including "Luck Be a Lady Tonight," "Sit Down, You're Rockin' The Boat," "Adelaide's Lament," and the wonderful title song, GUYS AND DOLLS is the quintessential New York City musical.

GUYS AND DOLLS tells the story of a group of small time gamblers and the ladies in their lives. Nathan Detroit bets his pal Sky Masterson that he can't make the next lady he sees fall in love with him. When the next lady happens to be the prim and proper neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown, the stage is set for an evening of high spirited entertainment, set to the toe tapping beat of Loesser's superlative compositions.

Based on Damon Runyon's tales of the New York underworld, BLOC's production of GUYS AND DOLLS will be set in the New York City of the 1950's, inhabited by gamblers, nightclub performers and members of the Save-a-Soul mission in search of sinners to cure.

GUYS AND DOLLS promises to be a fantastic experience which will stay with you for many years to come, featuring spectacular dance routines, fabulous costumes and bursting with classic hits.
